In praise of short road trips
On the days we remember to pack a kite, often winds don’t cooperate. We toss it up and run fast as we can down the hill or along the beach. It hovers a few feet above the ground and then plummets, the epitome of futility. But when we go somewhere gusting, we’ve inevitably left the kite at home.
